The Sanskrit word Yoga means Union, an entryway to balancing the spiritual, mental and physical aspects of the being. Man knows this to be the earliest holistic system of personal development. It has been practiced for five thousand years and is a type of conditioning of the body and places importance on both strengthening the body and mind while motivating the spirit and is a belief and discipline.

Yogi and Yogini refer to male and female practitioners of yoga respectively. In Indian philosophy, there are six orthodox systems and this system is one of them, being a practice that ensures health for the body and the mind. This is not just a case is of sitting in a lotus position and chanting in unity but is a huge subject and if you understand it can become a research for your entire life.

Overall, there are several different styles of this particular ancient holistic system - a couple of them are listed below: Raja Yoga is one of the four major paths of yoga which includes other ways to control ones body, power and mind and it is known as the ‘kingly’ form. Kundalini Yoga: The main component here comprises of the kriyas which are special set of exercises that promise instant results and these are very safe and non-stressful to practice. Hatha Yoga is combined set of postures known as asanas and breath control known as pranayama and it is the foundation for modern postures or asanas. The Sahaja yoga is based on the experience of self realization that resides within each individual. Moksha hot yoga is an exclusive method which has the combination of healing yoga and the basics of conventional yoga and this is practiced in an especially heated room.

Yoga is excellent for the young and old alike. Yoga has become the fastest growing and most popular exercise trend of all because it isn’t something that is necessarily done to you as it is something that you do. It is very gentle on the body which will help your to build up flexibility and endurance. Yoga is becoming popular among soldiers who want to develop their energy, elasticity and mental power. This is not just a physical exercise but also a discipline where inner harmony and a sense of well being is the aim.
